When Old Hoggen disappeared, everyone in Charmouth suspected foul play. Hoggen had been rich, powerful – and not well liked. Suspicions fall on summer vacationers…and in particularly newcomers Augustus, his wife, mother-in-law, and Cousin Jemima (who bears a striking resemblance to the missing man). When Augustus actually finds the Old Hoggen's body washed ashore in a storm, events take a decidedly sinister turn. <P> A strikingly good, exceedingly rare mystery from the author of Dracula! (The text is taken from the 1893 newspaper apperarance in «The Courier-Journal» of Louisville, Kentucky.)
