Includes schematics showing how to build one. <p> Most people today think that electric vehicles are something new…WRONG! There are also detailed schematics of many other electric devices, including telephones, switchboards, telegraphs, motors and high power distribution systems. One volume mentions how it is possible to transmit pictures, and this was before we had television! Another volume explains that electricity was not completely understood at that time, and that it was theorized that electricity was caused by a tension in the ether that surrounded the earth! <p> There are many interesting and sometimes hilarious experiments showing how to demonstrate many of the laws of nature, using their understanding at that time. Just the chapter on electric cars and how to build them is worth it all. <p> We should make sure this information doesnt get lost in the history of America, as it mostly has already.
